"Give Me a Sign"
My brother-in-law, Matt, is an amazing artist and painter. One of his sources of income comes through painting murals and signs for local companies.

"Presence-centered Youth Ministry: Guiding Students into Spiritual Formation"
Good friend, Mike King (and fellow Jacob’s Wellian) has just finished his new book entitled, “Presence-centered Youth Ministry – Guiding Students into Spiritual Formation.” Check it out on Amazon here.
Here’s a quote about the book (from InterVarsity Press):

One of the things I miss most...
My cousin Kate recently posted some pictures of her family having fun at the beach.

The Top 100... Plus some...
Blogging/Podcasting maniac, and friend, Andrew Careaga has just begun posting his Top 100 Life Changing Albums. He started with 100-91 and you should check them out — there are some really good ones there.
During this journey, he has asked a number of us to write some commentary on our own Top 10 Life Changing Albums. He’s just posted mine here (which actually equal 11, because, well, just because).
Let me know what you think (especially you, Dennis!).

Made it onto the ZDNet Blog...
My entry for the Flickr Colour Contest made it onto Ed Burnette‘s ZDNet Blog yesterday.
Cool!
There are a ton of really good entries, so I’m sure I won’t win the free year of a Pro Account. But, it was fun to create something in “my style” for the contest.

"Emerging Church Movement" on CBS News...
You can watch the video (and read the article) here.
I agree with Doug Pagitt... This is pretty cheesey.

Why's everbody always picking on me?
I never mentioned this here before, but just before Josiah was born, my wife and I forked out $2000 for a second car.
If you’ll remember, I was riding the bus for quite some time. When I got a new job, I couldn’t ride the bus anymore (I think I could have worked out a route to get down here, but it probably would have taken a couple of hours and more than five bus transfers), but we were able to make it work with one car for quite some time. The coming birth of our child finally forced us to make the decision to buy another car.

"Mideast Crisis"
Bombs
Rockets
Death
Six days in
Don’t hold your breath
Whys
Whos
What-ifs
A few more rounds
Another air lift
The questions asked
Are never enough
But there never would have been
A Revolutionary War
Without a impassioned cause
And a renegade militia

Another plea for iTunes (and iPods)...
A while back, I posted a “plea” for an iTunes feature. Well, that feature has still not been implemented in any form or fashion, but Doug Kaye‘s suggestion (using the .m4b format instead of the .m4a format), in the comments, is a close second. (Speaking of the comments for that post, there are a couple of comments there that I never saw — and a couple of missing ones too… Arg!)
But, that’s all beside the point.
My new plea is very different and, in my opinion, pretty crucial.

Avocado update...
It’s been a while since I’ve brought up our avocado tree. As you’ll see in the photos below, it’s doing rather well. It wasn’t always doing this well, though.
